TULOR, QUITOR & KATARPE VILLAGE ARCHAEOLOGICAL
San Pedro de Atacama is considered the archaeological capital of Chile, with many sites of cultural and historical interest that show the origins of mankind in this place. We’ll start our tour visiting Tulor village which corresponds to the first traces of the change from hunters collectors to the sedentary lifestyle and shepherding and agricultural activity. This is thanks to the domestication of land and animals which brought important changes used in this era, generated by external cultural influences which emphasize the architecture, manufacture of utensils, tools and self-defense systems. These changes are implicit in the construction of Quitor’s pukara and katarpe’s tambo, places to visit in this exciting excursion.
